Sara Robin is a German filmmaker based in the US. Her work explores human connection, often through the lens of future worlds. She loves telling stories at the intersection of documentary and science-fiction.

Her first feature documentary "Your Attention Please" premiered at SXSW 2026 to immediate critical and audience acclaim. The film follows the cultural pushback against the Attention Economy, and features leading voices including Kristin Bride, Tristan Harris, Frances Haugen, and Vivek Murthy.

Sara is the winner of the 2023 HollyShorts screenwriting contest with her sci-fi script Switch that takes a darkly humorous look at virtual relationships.

Her 2020 short film about an undocumented teen "Cranberry Nights", starring Inde Navarrette (13 Reasons Why, Superman & Lois) has screened in over a dozen festivals around the world, including Holly Shorts and SCAD Savannah, and received awards for best directing and best film.

The feature adaptation "Here To Stay", written together with Shirley Miller, placed at the top 5% of the Blacklist, and top 1% of Coverfly, and was the winner of the 2021 New England Film Fellowship at Stowe Story Labs.

Alongside her independent work, Sara directs and produces commercials for clients including Nike, Jordan, and Netflix. She holds an MFA in Film Production from Boston University, for which she has been awarded a Fulbright Fellowship.

Sara is an avid traveler and adventurer. She has lived in Germany, Australia, and the United States, and filmed on locations around the world, including China, Tanzania, and Poland.

In her free time, Sara enjoys hiking mountains and climbing walls, and is typically working on at least three different projects at once. She values open communication and the courage to imagine a better world (ideally one in which Star Wars sequels never saw the light of day). Occasionally, she can be bribed with wine and chocolate.
